Just what are drivelines? These truck components are sometimes not even visible, but they play very important roles in truck reliability. There are many components that are needed in order for a truck to run smoothly. Drivelines are found underneath a truck’s chassis.

With other truck parts, we’re used to interacting with them and either hearing or seeing them. For example, we see tires, wheels, hubs, and other components, and we interact with a shift level as we drive. However, a driveline is something that is not really seen unless you go under a truck.

Simply put, your driveline is what allows your truck to move. This piece connects your transmission to the axles. That means that if you do not have a driveline or something is wrong with it, it means your axles will have no torque.

What you might not know is that there are many different names for drivelines. This includes drivetrains and drive shafts. Whatever you want to call it, they are what keeps your truck moving along! Without it, it would be difficult for you to have any power coming from the motor of your truck to its wheels. You need the drivetrain in order to be able to use different speeds and angles.

There are many other components to a truck that need your attention in order to stay in tip-top shape! This includes paying attention to belts and hoses, air conditioning, brake service, oil change needs, and keeping an eye out for when your next tune up service is!

While drivelines might be something that you don’t really think to consider when thinking about your overall truck maintenance, it’s a very important piece of your truck! It is important to keep your driveline working well in order to keep your truck going.
